My dog loves to swim in the lakes/rivers, will they like swimming in a pool?
Swimming indoors is much different than swimming in a natural body of water. The entry method, the temperature , and the clarity are all very different. About 5% of dogs dive right in, the other 95% need a little time and some assistance. We highly recommend signing up for an assisted swim first. If your dog hops right in, we will change the session to an unassisted session. Some dogs need 1 session with guidance, some need a few. We are here to make your dog's first indoor swim experience a success!
Can I go in the pool with my dog? Am I allowed to be in the same area as my dog?
No, because then we would become a public pool and be required to raise the chemical levels to a level unsafe for the animals, which is the last thing we want to do.
You may be on the deck with your dog. The assisted deck is small and can fit 2-3 people comfortably. The unassisted deck is 900 sq ft in total so there is lots of room.
Does my dog need a bath after every session?
No, but we do recommend a bath every two-three weeks if your dog is swimming at least once per week (especially important for medium length/long hair dogs).
What do I need to bring?
We supply towels, life jackets and toys. If your dog really prefers something you own, like a specific toy or life jacket, you are more then welcome to bring said items. There is a very good chance that you will get wet while at the facility, so wear appropriate clothing and shoes. We do have 2 public bathrooms.
